Our Pastor
Senior Pastor
Rev. Joshua Cho was born in Seoul, Korea, but immigrated to the United States at the age of 1. He grew up in New Jersey, where he came to know and love Jesus at his home church. He continued to attend his home church during his college years and beyond, serving in different areas as a Sunday School teacher, youth pastor, and eventually English Ministry (EM) pastor. He studied theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Pastor Joshua moved to Atlanta and served as the pastor of EM at Saehan Church (PCA). Then in 2008, he relocated to Korea, where he pastored foreigners and English teachers at Seoul Presbyterian Church, located in the Gangnam district. By God’s mercy, he received a call from Open Door Community Church in March 2011, and began serving as senior pastor in September. Despite his multiple exposures to Korean culture throughout his life, Pastor Joshua remains linguistically challenged, and only speaks Korean to a select few in secret. He does enjoy Korean food though.
Pastor Joshua was originally ordained in 2004 by the Korean-American Presbyterian Church (KAPC), and is now a member of the GA Foothills Presbytery in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
In 2002, God blessed Pastor Joshua with the privilege of marrying Alyssa, his seminary rival and sweetheart. They now have three energetic boys who keep them on their toes – Elijah, Noah, and Caleb.
